Airborne early warning and control: An airborne early warning and control system is an airborne radar picket system designed to detect aircraft, ships and vehicles at long ranges and perform command and control of the battlespace in an air engagement by directing fighter and attack aircraft strikes. AEW&C units are also used to carry out surveillance, including over ground targets and frequently perform C2BM (command and control, battle management) functions similar to an Air Traffic Controller given military command over other forces.
Airborne forces: Airborne forces are military units moved by aircraft and "dropped" into battle, typically by parachute, almost anywhere with little warning. Formations are limited only by the number and size of their aircraft; a huge force can appear "out of nowhere" behind enemy lines in minutes, an action known as vertical envelopment.
Airborne wind energy: Airborne wind energy is the generation of wind energy by the use of aerodynamic or aerostatic lift devices. This technology is able to harvest high altitude winds.
Airborne (dietary supplement): Airborne is a dietary supplement containing herbal extracts, amino acids, antioxidants, electrolytes, vitamins, and other ingredients marketed to prevent the common cold and improve immune function. The benefits of its use are uncertain. There are no studies supporting Airborne's effectiveness that meet scientific standards.
