Athletic Bilbao: Athletic Club, commonly known as Athletic Bilbao or just Athletic , is a Spanish professional football club based in the city of Bilbao in the Basque Country in Spain. Athletics at the 1988 Summer Olympics – Men's 100 metres: The men's 100 meters at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea saw world champion Ben Johnson of Canada defeat defending Olympic champion Carl Lewis of the United States in a world record time of 9.79, breaking his own record of 9.83 that he had set at the 1987 World Championships in Rome. Two days later, Johnson was stripped of his gold medal by the International Olympic Committee after he tested positive for stanozolol, and his record of 9.79 seconds was deleted.
